I'm new to the crypto idea, I heard Monero is better to BitCoin. How do I use it, including creating wallets and how do I keep it safe from hackers? Also can it be converted into dollar bills? I heard Australia is considering going cashless, so I'm getting a bit nervous about other regions.

...Oh and converting between Bitcoin and Monero safely,

I wonder how many new people install the official bitcoin wallet and get discourage because of how long it takes to synchronize. There should be an official light client version of the wallet for less advanced.

Not getting any push notifications for the new Bitcoin.com wallet on iOS

The new Bitcoin.com wallet is looking slick af, however, I‘m not getting push notifications when I receive a transaction anymore. Given the settings, it should be possible to receive them and I‘ve enabled all notifications.
Are the notifications still under development or is there some setting I forgot to activate?

We have created a new kind of Bitcoin wallet which uses an extra phone for cold wallet functionality. Would love to get some feedback from the community.

During the last couple of months, we have been working on a project which we think will lower the barrier to entry into the world of highly secure Bitcoin storage.
We call our solution COINiD, and it is a regular Bitcoin wallet, but it can also work in cold wallet mode by signing transactions using a completely offline phone. In short, we separate the private key from the actual wallet and store it in a separate app that we call the COINiD Vault that handles the signing.
Since most people have an extra spare phone laying around, we believe it is easier for them to use our solution instead of buying extra hardware (Ledger or Trezor).
A video might do it more justice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3iuELMSW1w
Anyhow, we would love to get some help testing it and are announcing public early access today. So if you are interested in trying it out, please sign up on https://coinid.org, and you’ll get an invite to our iOS TestFlight, you will then be able to install either the Testnet Wallet or the Bitcoin Wallet.
Oh yeah, currently we have the iOS version ready for testing. We will announce the Android version soon.
If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them here.

New to bitcoin. If I get a 5 dollar bitcoin tonight and hypothetically bitcoin goes up and it turns into 5.05 would I see the difference right away in the account/wallet? Or do I have to sell it first or something? Thanks.

You would want to get your own wallet, through ledger or an online wallet that is not connected with all of your information, from there you’d want to send your BTC from the new wallet to a tumbling service then to the vendor. Even then there is still a bit of a trail leading back to your name but that’s the only way I know of keeping it anonymous. Besides or you could buy XMR and use XMR.to to make your btc payment anonymous.
